The boiler is getting a new course between the firebox and the smokebox. And Chris intends to rivet it! See some of Chris' recent posts on this discussion forum.

Chris had a write-up in the NSRM newsletter about the problems with the earlier replacement boiler. Years ago a previous restoration manager was so sure of himself that he did not get his drawing for the new boiler checked and the firebox ended up a foot higher than it should have been. I am told that that boiler is available.
