I agree that a bunch of interesting stuff has been posted. Those of us who have lurked here a while know the threads (and the hot buttons). I am among those guilty who have forgotten some of the discussions and have to ask the question. Sometimes asking the question again raises further interesting points.
For example, your story about reserving OO for one of the final moves across Marshall really cross references several themes confronting the railroad: abandoning a line, which gear was worth saving, how traffic was changing (mods to pipe cars) and moving new equipment to replace old. A very rich tapestry of a tale for sure!
