IMHO no more no less and not the railroads opinion but just my opinion.
Your statement

This had to come from emotion and no where near fact. There are good arguments for both side of this discussion and I am sure everyone believes they are right but to make up something like
"This branding arguement is bogus and comes from people who apparently know little about marketing or branding." IMHO does your side of the discussion NO Good.
