Ed Baudette was working as the switchman that morning. Here he catches a ride from the water
tower back toward the depot. As you can tell from the background, there is a LOT to explore in
Chama, and it's well worth spending a day just wandering around the yard
:
Jeff Stebbins was again on hand as engineer for the day; here he's backing down to pick up the office car from its usual spot just north of the depot:
Ed and Alan hitch a ride as Jeff makes up the snow-fighting train for Michael's night photo session on Tuesday
:
With the Jordan Spreader at the front, the snow train is moved into position for the night photo shoot
:
Most of the switching done, "#483" is positioned at the head of the re-enactment special. Floppo (shown here) and Jeff - himself a 1970 volunteer - were scheduled to be our engine crew later in the day (see [
ngdiscussion.net] for Steve Forney's video):
At this point I put my camera away, and tried to earn my keep by helping Ed Stabler set up outside the depot. Rain soon drove us inside, so there was a semi-captive audience in the depot for our debut of "Festus"
... (See [
ngdiscussion.net] - if you dare!)
(To be concluded ... )
