Steve as I was looking at the last 17 postings I find it strange
that you are first the only one who brought up CHS? You are compleately out of context here. This is not a posting of the blame game here it was just to find out how the # 9 restoration was going.Boy , you have really got an anger problem! It seems the State local and federal governmets have taken on the chin quite a lot these days and yet I have seen a lot of fine things done by government especially Colorado and feds. Colorado has a fine roads cares program known as the DOT. It also provides un employment services when so many these days are out of work. Colorado also has one of the best historical societys in the nation if not the west.Steve let me ask you this would you like to live in a state or country with no road maintenance?No unemployment insurance
and absoultely no preservation of any artifact funded what so ever by government even help with grants? If that was so then I don't think we would be discussing anything here.You don"t seem to have much of a memory or know the history of the whys and hows of the "LOOP" do you?
Remember I-70 would be where the LOOP is today. No Silver Plume yard,
no Lebenon Mine ,and no fantastic "High Bridge". CHS didn't build the bridge but they organized the funding got federal construction help through the "Seabees" along with working with Lindsay Ashby with his
rolling stock and locomotives.
Steve we work for CHS, CHS pays my salary feeds my wife and I and our little family as well as 11 full time employees. All except four or five
of the current year around and summer railroaders worked for thew old LOOP. You don't suppose you have a problem with them too? Phil Johnson
is back as Superintendant. We and I say especially CHS are tring to make this a great operation as it once was. Your " Crap " slinging
only makes our work harder! I can tell you that eveyone at the Loop
from old timer to short timer don't think much of your postings. They take it personel. We have a good working relationship with CHS all of us at HRA! CHS has many new faces and many old faces these days.We all work together. I don't know where you get these wasted millions stuff?
The 9 was an experment , it didn't work but it was still a neat idea.
Any harm done to the 9? No for the 9 needed more money spent and more work done to make it a full restoration. And the money wasn't there,FACT!! And as a quote from " Dan Marcoff" on someones comment on how his "EUREKA " was restored "I never liked American types" he told him "Go get your own Damm engine if you don't like it!!
