“let us be thankful the equipment is still here to be seen and photographed” statement. We are very fortunate that so much of the D&RGW equipment still exists today, in regular service, and running on its original right of way.
The Pennsylvania Railroad was once the Standard Railroad of the World; of its entire steam fleet only a 0-6-0 is in operating condition.
Not one of the New York Central’s Hudsons are still in existence, all were scrapped.
