Everett, this is another cropped image of a different photo in the same set. I think there is considerable facial similarity. Kinda interesting to try to make this comparison on photos taken 40 or so years apart. Mr. Jukes was born 1877, died 1971 at age 94. One of the SVRy related photos attributed to Mr. Jukes is captioned as "about 1917". Taking a leap that this is Mr Jukes on the same trip to SVRy, he would be 40 years old, which seems about right for the guy in the photo. What do you think?
I posted a couple photos from this collection some time back as a then and now bit on Whitney. I took the liberty of using the photos as those particular ones appeared in other collections. The original nitrate negatives are from the collection of Jim Grigsby and Laura Hayse, were scanned by Garrie Tufford and photo edited as needed. These cropped images are from photos printed off of those edited scans that Garrie was good enough to share with me with the understanding that I would try to provide captions. I doubt that any more detail could be pulled off the negatives. There are 119 photos, some of which are pretty easy, others like this take a little digging and some we will probably never be able to fully identify.
