That's an excellent comment and I can remember the early 70's rotary trips
with relatively minimal snow and the amount of effort to clear that. The
deep stuff took hand work at 10,000 feet plus repeated attempts to clear
what was then maybe 10 day drifts. The many pictures including the C&S
where the drifts were well above the top of the rotaries make the efforts
seem almost unbelievable.
