Well Guys.....I reached a very huge milestone tonight. After 1 1/2 years of construction, the Chama Roundhouse for my HOn3 Model Railroad layout is done (well....it is never done, however it is done to where I am VERY happy). So I thought that I would share some pictures.
In my world, the date is 1949 and the Oil Boom in Farmington is in full swing. Money is starting to flow back in the struggling railroad, so management FINALLY has allowed the Bridges and Buildings Department to replace the ever aging roof on the Chama Roundhouse. Replacement has already occurred on the shop area, but work is in full swing on the rest of the structure. Below are pictures from that activity.
Top View showing the roof work in action.
Work has been completed on the Shop area. Soot is already starting to collect around the smoke stack.
The doors have almost been complete. Some of the old doors are still needing to be replaced.
A bit of a discussion going on in the shop about some work.
Hope you guys enjoy the shots. It has been a LOT of fun working on this structure, but now on to something a little less .... ummm...complex
Total man hours is estimated at 350-400 hours. Total cost: Priceless
Special thanks to everyone who helped provide details for this. They are, and are not limited to the following: Jerry Day, Roger Hogan, Russo, Rich Muth, and Dave. (I know I am missing more, but my memory is starting to go, and I'm not even close to the same age as Roger!!)
Thanks again for all of the help. On to the Rio Chama Bridge
