Gavin,
I know why he used the music, cause there was little or no sound of the train in the beginning of the video. Generally I would never shoot a train like this on the DOWNGRADE of this location for that very reason. Downhill shots are simply boring. Now to be fair this scene was better than I would have expected, and it looked like the crew knew he was going to be there as they stoked the fire pretty heavy to lay on smoke, and they even had some throttle on to make it talk a little. Generally every time I saw an engine go down this location it was rod clank only for audio.
My favorite shot is the last scene of 484 starting up. Again looked like another runby for the C&TS cameraman though. I would much prefer a scene watching the train go upgrade all the way around the loop from above the first level.
I sure hope they get the bridge fixed, cause the C&TS is not the same without the engines toiling up the 4% from Chama to Cumbres.
Gotta give Roger credit for getting away from the highway lately. Good effort there Roger. Still waiting for Phantom Curve though!!!
