Just as a follow-up, the trip above was run over Memorial Day Weekend 1954. It was a 3 day trip. Alamosa to Durango day 1, then trip to Silverton on the branch with 476(#7), and the diesel, and Back to Alamosa from Durango on the final day. There are a few clips of this trip in this preview video.
