The tall steel truss bridge at Pogue (adjacent to the school property) is predominantly threatened by undermining of one of the piers and also the loss of several large cut stones from that same pier. I believe it now carries an historic bridge designation (in addition to being part of the EBT National Historic Landmark).
The concrete bridge at Aughwick is rough, but at least sits on bedrock (it's right there at the bottom of the creek).
Sure the tunnels are unstable... aren't they all? Sideling has just one area of fall right at the south portal. The Rocky Ridge tunnel has a couple of small falls along it's length, but the south portal has been naturally daylighted behind the concrete portal, and the height of the debris makes the tunnel looked block but it isn't. This portal also collapsed back way back when (1900-ish) and was modified (hence the massive modern concrete portal). Overall, not bad given 54 years without any maintenance and very little lining.
Flooding from hurricanes Agnes and Ivan has caused a good bit of erosion of fills scattered along the line.
The current operation is about 4 miles of the 33 mile mainline. Back around 1910 there were several branches (Shade Valley, Shade Gap, Midvalley, and Rocky Ridge) which brought system mileage to approx. 60.

Did I mention the EBT's Fall Spectacular is *this* weekend, Oct 8-10?
And nice photos! Surprising how they look just like today, except that one pesky tree is now gone.
