Ron,
Are you familiar with the North American Railcar Operators Association?
NARCOA is a national organization of speeder owners and is a wonderful network of information on restoring and operating railroad motorcars.
Of particular interest to your project is the Motorcar Maintenance E-mail List available through the Yahoo Groups website. I highly recommend you consider signing up (it's free).
I've restored a Fairmont S2 2-cycle belt drive section car and the group has been a lot of help.
There is also a more general Speeder E-mail list. Information for that as well as NARCOA is available at www.narcoa.org.
I don't have any experience with the Casey Jones line of cars, but I'd be happy to answer any questions you may have.
Best of luck.
