Yes it's interesting about the plans and the multi-chime horn placement.

I wonder if on the hood (as shown in the plans) is more of a generic placement for the standard gauge Army switchers and the plans included the horn there.


A friend sent me an image that might show a single chime horn mounted on or right next to the engineer's front window. But it is very hard to tell and could just be some of the interior controls showing through the window:
