It is known that the name of the contractor that built the DSP&P's roundhouses at Como (1881) and Denver (1879) was a company named F.O. Brown. F.O. Brown also did the grading on the east side of Boreas Pass. The design of the Gunnison Roundhouse seems to be a "UP design" as the Kansas / Denver Pacific roundhouse in Denver (1880-81) is similar to the one in Gunnison. I have yet to find historic documentation or proof of mainly Italian masons who built numerous DSP&P structures...?
