D&RG laid a 3rd rail Denver to Pueblo in 1881, serious standard gauging began in 1886-7 with the entire mainline (via the Tennessee Pass route) converted by November of 1890. [note that CM reached Leadville in '86] Also converted at this time was the line from Pueblo to Trinidad and various branches.
