Re: 0575 & 0579 windows?

Early on, some of the caboose fleet had 3 windows on each side, the best example is 49 at CRRM [drgw.free.fr]. 0579 apparently didn't as it was delivered to the D&RG in one of the last batches to be acquired. See various pictures of it: [drgw0579.home.comcast.net]

Note that after WWII the 0579 cupola was rebuilt with the double window configuration. We don't know if the car was repainted at the same time and used the flying Rio Grande or not. So the current configuration of 0579 may be incorrect. The only way to prove that however would be to ask the guy who painted it in the '40s.
