I talked to Russ this afternoon on my way over to Alamosa. He seemed to be a bit woozy from long hours cleaning, masking, and painting. And the fumes from the rattlecan gold paint got to me after just a few minutes. So he may not reply until tomorrow, at least.
There's been lots of help from Jim Poston, Rich Murrey and his son Mike, My apologies to the Chama resident, who's name I missed, that painted the tuscan red on the cab, tender and the domes. All of this while I was foaming on the D&S. My apologies to any volunteers I missed.
There are hopes that the media will pick up big time on the 40th Celebration, and give the RR much needed publicity. If so, 487's descent into infamy will have positive benefits.
