Thanks Rich! The torching of the web of the rail is to install gauge bars as the ties below are bad and the dirt holds the gauge as much as the ties do.
The 222 car is being moved away from the depot so they can cut the rails between it the the crane, and start the curve with the snap track to move it by the crane. (The crane is available to a good home.)
The narrow gauge boxcars we worked on last year should be painted and lettered, and look great by the end of next week.
Pretty impressive work for a bunch of old folks! Janna, the Montana Historical Society contact, mentioned to me last summer that she didn't expect much to get done. By lunch time of the FIRST DAY, she said she was worrying about having ENOUGH WORK for two weeks! We had finished all the work on her list by Tuesday afternoon of the second week and were looking for more.
