I just looked it up - in 1922-23 Durango had a 1,000 Ton ice facility with an 80 ft. platform. 1,000 tons of ice storage works out to be about 25 ft. X 30 ft. if the ice is stacked 6 ft. high (and if the floor is supported properly).
(For comparison purposes, Grand Junction had a 30,000 Ton facility, Denver 10,000 tons, Alamosa 2,000 tons.)
