Cole,

This locomotive was profiled in the short-lived "Journal of Texas Shortline Railroads." Published in 1996, Vol. 1, No. 2 of the magazine was devoted to The Rio Grande Railroad Company. A photo of the locomotive is featured on the cover of the issue. A quick E-bay search turned up: [cgi.ebay.com]. (I have no stake in the auction).

The Texas State Historical Association offers an online version of its encyclopedia of Texas History: The Handbook of Texas. There's an entry on the Rio Grande Railroad available at [www.tshaonline.org] .

There's also an entry on the Rio Grande Railroad on page 527 of Hilton's American Narrow Gauge Railroads. This too is accessible online at [books.google.com].

Good luck on your search.
