Re: Railroad Equipment

Hello. The Foundations intent is to operate both passenger and freight operations. Heavy dialog has been going on between the Foundation and one of the mine owners that approached them. His intent is to have the Foundation start shipping ore back out by rail. Truck shipment was costing him too much. The Foundation would be hauling for him now, but is in need of additional financial support for the rehab of the line. The low amount of press and the false propaganda coming out of the Creede city office has made it hard to raise money for this cause. The Foundation has also had dialog on the movement of cattle and additional freight. The Foundation will slowly work through this money hurdle, as any new non-profit railroad has to do. The Foundation has come a long way already on the opening/rehab, equipment acquisition and other projects. The Foundation is hoping to raise enough funds for the next payment to the Union Pacific and the pouring of the foundation/floor of the shop building. The building has already been acquired and the groundwork has been donated. Once the building is up, it will allow volunteers year round availability on the rehabbing of both standard and narrow gauge equipment. But this hinders on everyone’s support, I hope you all will help anyway possible. Thanks, Matt Cutter.
