Cumbres Pass Circa 1967

This is another print taken on the Denver & RioGrande Western narrow gauge by Dick Harrison. Few of the prints have captions beyond location on a few of them. Since comments by others indicated some of the shots were taken in 1967, I assume this one was also. The location is Cumbres Pass at a elevation of 10,022ft. Today, you can still ride the narrow gauge Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad over this pass. Having had the opportunity to ride both ways over the pass some years ago, I encourage all railfans to enjoy this experience. The scan is from the SVRR Archive.
