Was D&RGW #482 Set Aside For Scrapping At One Time?

I came across this undated photo recently showing D&RGW #482 looking pretty bleak. I assume this was taken in Alamosa. We see that she has been stripped of all her plates, her bell and whistle and even her air pump.
This makes me wonder if D&RGW planned on scrapping her at one time?
