Members of the Durango Railroad Historical Society work on the restoration of a 1904 drop-bottom gondola July 16 at a work site on County Road 223 southeast of Durango. Dennis D'Alessandro, chief mechanical officer and vice president of the historical society, said the restored gondola eventually will be transported to a railroad park the historical society is working on in Silverton.
