The section of the Hoover Dam construction railroad from Boulder City to the dam was removed around 1962, after the last turbine was received and installed and is now a trail. In retrospect, it might have made a more interesting tourist RR ride than the section the museum now operates on, as well as possibly solving some traffic and parking problems at the same time and making the transport of heavy dam machinery somewhat easier. Does anyone know if such railroad reuse was ever discussed or considered?
