Once again we've been laying rail and have now started ballasting. All the rail is laid except for the 3 remaining switches and their connections, and the track from the stub switch on into the engine house. Tom Necchi and Loren Lew completed their track assignments and Tom started ballasting while the D&S crew came back for three days this past week. New switch ties arrived from Arizona last night, and new switches are due in later next week from the fabricator in Ohio.

And we picked up today the suport of Dick Moe, the recently retired president of the National Trust for Historic Preservation, for the Silverton Northern rebuilding effort. We gave Dick a tour of the engine house and he whole heartedly gave us his backing and will assist us in our efforts. The National Trust is the key player in historic preservation in the United States.
