Russ, this is not aimed at you personally - your message simply provided a convenient place to hang this comment.

Since I am only 62, you may feel I'm too young to be providing advice, but, as the only male in our family, I speak with a certain amount of experience. If you use the word "girl" to describe any female of voting age, you run the risk of being ignored at best. I know this was not a personal slight, but it could create issues nonetheless.
