I realize that it's not RR related and way up in altitude but here's part of a news article from Channel 7 in Denver today:
"ROCKY MOUNTAIN NATIONAL PARK, Colo. -- The highest continuous highway in the United States, topping more than two miles above sea level, has reopened after an overnight closure because of snow and poor visibility.
A 5-mile stretch of Trail Ridge Road in Rocky Mountain National Park was closed late Wednesday and reopened Thursday morning. Park officials haven't said how much snow fell.
The snow was the result of a cold front that moved through Colorado on Wednesday, dropping temperatures 20 to 30 degrees from normal.

Some parts of the road have no painted lanes because of a construction project, making it more dangerous in wintry conditions.
U.S. Highway 36 climbs to 12,183 feet on the Continental Divide and connects the towns of Estes Park and Grand Lake.
