Actually the Town of Silverton is operating 3 different campgrounds including what they are calling "Depot Campground". They are providing portable restrooms, dumpsters and security for a fee of $15 per person aged 15 & over.
The D&S has a nearly sold out (320+) Independence Day Train that will arrive in Silverton at 1:45pm to stay for all the afternoon activities and fireworks. At the depot We will have a 40x60 event tent, tables & chairs, portable restrooms, and the train ticket includes live music and BBQ dinner. Passengers will then enjoy a nice relaxing night trip back to Durango. Weather predictions are good and I am looking forward to a GREAT 4th in Silverton!
