How many passenger cars are on the east end?

June 25, 2010 08:07PM
If Soni was contracted next week to haul a K-36 up to Dalton to get a second locomotive on the line, are there enough cars to make a second train? How many cars would he have to move as well and can his truck fit a coach? Where are to former box car passenger cars besides the ones that went to Georgetown Loop?

Why is it not cost effective to begin moving a locomotive right now and not wait for the bridge inspection? It surely would help protect the possible revenue if two trains were running on the line from Dalton to Antonito and return the next day. That would be nearly normal service with only a 6 mile bus ferry move.
