Hi, Again -
There are a couple of dozen small gas "putt-putt" utility engines on display near the main station of the railroad, but the BIG event – the EDGE&TA 50th Anniversary National Show – was over in the "East Forty" across the creek. There were DOZENS and DOZENS of tractors lined up on display, and more arriving all afternoon. There were a couple of brand new ones – probably as ads for local dealers – but most were old gasoline and diesel tractors, many dating from the early 1900's, along with a few large steam tractors.
Here's a couple of rows, and a few detail shots of the ones that really caught my eye
:
And another section of the display; most of these - but not all - were a little newer
:
My favorite - partly because it was so big and because it was being "exercised", but mainly because it's STEAM - was this gigantic Holt replica from Stockton. I'll bet it outweighs even 'Das FrankenPorter'
:
The show and train rides will go on until early Sunday afternoon, June 27; it was well worth the 2½ hour drive from Ventura. For details and directions, see the link on Jeff Badger's post at [
