Suggestion, while Lobato bridge is out

What sells newspapers and the tabloids? . . . BAD NEWS!
Whats on the TV news every night?
"Tonight's Murder, Tonight's Robbery, Tonight's Fire"
People can't look away when "someone else" has trouble... human nature.

The C&TS could use this, and turn bad news into good news...

Run train rides up to Lobato!

Shove the train out of Chama with the engine on the west end facing east...
Keeps the engine on the downhill end of the train, and the crown sheet on the downhill end of the water.

Put open gons on each end of the train:
one for passengers wanting to enjoy a "K-36 in your face" ( ala Cass Shays )
one for the passengers to get a look at, and pictures of, the trestle from the safe confines of the train.
Have a narrator tell the bridge story, and keep up-to-date on the repair work.

This train could be run several times each day, as an alternate choice to riding the bus to Antonito.

Here is a prime opportunity for the folks that run the C&TS to shine!
I wish them the best of luck, regardless of what they choose to do,
and I look forward to riding across the newly re-decked Lobato Trestle in the near future!
