The way I figure it is:
1) For the NON-railfan August 23 is WAY better than August 20, as the moon will be much fuller
and rising at a much better time.
2) For railfans, the Silverton photo shoot may (already) be sold out, so we are offering an alternative.
3) The Chevy Club will be arriving in the area on Monday, and may be interested in something different.
4) Housing in Chama will be VERY tight on August 24-26 - at least - so quite a few people will likely end
up staying in Alamosa. Running a dinner train from Antonito instead of Chama might attract some of them.
5) Some of the attendees at Railfest may plan to return to Denver or ABQ over a two- or three-day period,
and may be looking for something to do on August 23 - especially if riding the D&RG on the 24th or 25th
and the SL&RG on the 26th.
6) Adding a FREE night photo shoot to the C&TS dinner train can't hurt, and may even help a bit. Who knows?
Roger, Michael, John and I CANNOT help with this on August 20, but CAN on August 23 ...

In summary, changing the date from August 20 to August 23 and the departure from Chama to Antonito probably can't hurt much,
but could help a lot.
