Re: Where best to stay near the Huckleberry Railroad

I second what Paul has to say about the Hill Road area. There are three national chains at Hill Rd. and US-23 that are fine (Holiday Inn, Residence Inn, Americinn). Any chain hotel at an I-75 interchange should be fine, with the possible exception of Pearson Rd. The Wingate by Wyndham is in Grand Blanc (upper income suburb) and is just off I-475, which will take you directly to the Carpenter Rd. exit for the Huckleberry RR.

There are numerous Hotels and motels north of Flint around Birch Run, Bridgeport and Frakenmuth. Frankenmuth is a very family friendly destination and Bridgeport is a big outlet mall. This should appease your family for any extra time you spend at the Huck.
