In our 1968 show Ernie Robart has a neat film sequence of 498 at Monero.
If you look at the curve behind the caboose in this picture around the next curve is where it starts. He is standing in the area to the left where the train is not seen, and shows the train pulling the second half of his 12 lumber loads up the grade past the building in the background.
After seeing that, you realize why they needed to doublehead this line.
