HHhhhmmmmmmm -
The
Curmudgeonly Magnificent Seven - first time I saw it as a freshman or maybe a sophomore
at Colorado College, we scrunched down in our seats so the usher wouldn't notice us and sat
through it a second time. IIRC, I went back at least twice the next week, and once a week for
as long as it was showing in The Springs. It wasn't really the plot - which based on 'The Seven
Samurai' was pretty good - it was the photography and especially Elmer Bernstein's incredible
music - a sort of Capriccio Mexicano. (IMHO, Bernstein should have won the Oscar that year,
but it went to Dmitri Tiomkin for 'The Alamo').
Oh, did I mention your choice of music is HIGHLY appropriate? Almost as good as your photos!
GREAT WORK, David!! I'm
really glad you were able to join us!!!
