The Hesston Steam Museum will kick off our 54 season this Memorial Day Weekend.
Lined up for operation:
Lima's Last Narrow Gauge Shay ex New Mexico Lumber Company #7 / Oregon Lumber Company 107.
2' gauge Orenstein and Koppel 0-8-0 outside frame locomotive.
Plus motor Car rides this weekend. Our railroad travels through deep woods and 5% + grades.
We are double heading 1/4 scale streamlined 4-8-4 and 4-6-4 steam locomotives both from the former Melrose Park, IL Kiddieland Limited Railroad on our 14" gauge. There will also be numerous 7.5" gauge steam and gas engines running on that railroad.
See the progress made on our 1911 HK Porter 3' gauge locomotive being restored.
Other steam equipment operating:
97 ton Browning Locomotive Crane (standard gauge), Steam Powered traction engine, and steam powered electric light plant.
Our sawmill will also be in operation.
Hope to see some of you there!
