D&S Essential Services Train

The D&S ran a special train to Silverton and return today. The train was named Essential Services Train. The train took a box car of food and supplies for the San Juan County food bank, an emergency vehicle was on a flat car along with a railroad motor car the D&S donated to San Juan County to be used in the event the highway to Durango was closed. The train consisted of K-37 493, Auxiliary Water Car 0471, box car, flat car, and 10 passenger cars. The passenger cars were included to test fuel consumption of newly rebuilt 493. Everyone was following Covid19 guidelines...masks, social distancing.
