You're Welcome, Linn -
And of course, being a 'Wild-Eyed Foamer', notorious self-promoter, and admitted Curmudgeon,
I did have an ulterior motive in posting a couple of Ernie's photos -
... Which is to help make the 40th Anniversary Celebration next August so successful that it will
become the first annual Railroad Days (or Daze) on the C&TS - equivalent to Railfest on the D&S -
and always on the weekend after Railfest, year after year, so that fans can count on enough goings-
on in Narrow Gauge Country for ten to twelve days near the end of summer each year that a long trip
from far, far away is worth planning and paying for.
Olaf Rasmussen and I bribed Ernie with a ticket for the last #315 trip of 2009 - from Antonito to Chama on 09/27/09 - so now Ernie has a promise to keep
: sort through his more than 9,000 slides
* taken in the late sixties and early seventies, and present somewhat less than 10% of them
** as a slide show and talk in Chama - and maybe also in Antonito - about the earliest days of the C&TS, during the festivities in August.
The date(s), time(s) and venue(s) for Ernie's presentation(s) haven't been pinned down yet, but I strongly suggest that anyone interested in the Narrow Gauge Over Cumbres during the transition years - 1965 through 1975 - stay tuned for further announcements

* Yes, that's NINE
THOUSAND SLIDES - plus a huge number of B&W negs, and quite a bit of movie footage!
** Actually, only one percent of the total is probably a more realistic number, or maybe 3% to 5% of his 1970-71 slides - but that's still good for a
very comprehensive look at the early history of the C&TS
