Sorry, Jeff -
I was hanging out with my neighbor Jen and her puppy all afternoon, and didn't get to see the post
before it was gone.

pps. Most serious railfans
* are either too sensible to even think about trying to organize an excursion and putting up with all the hassles - including pointless criticism from the nay-sayers (being called a 'Wild-Eyed Foamer', for instance). Most railfans don't fit the role described in my song, either. But I do recall seeing a convertible-load of Foamers pulled over in the Feather River Canyon while chasing #3985 many years ago (I think the driver was filming, too - not just the three passengers). And about a dozen years ago my daughter grabbed my arm while we were riding in an F&W baggage car a few miles west of Fillmore, "Look Daddy!", she exclaimed - "It's just like in your song!!" Sure enough! There was a fellow leaning out of the passenger-side window of an old gray Honda, filming #51 with both hands holding his movie camera, with one foot apparently on the gas pedal and the other jammed between the spokes of the steering wheel, bouncing along a dirt orchard road at 15 to 20 miles per hour!
* If "serious railfan" isn't an oxymoron, then oxymorons are about as numerous as honest politicians and jackelopes!
