There is "Mallets on the Mendocino Coast", written by Ted Wurm. A second edition was put out by Timber Times up in Portland, and I think it is still available. A big plus with the second edition is a Coker painting on the cover.

The "Daisy", a 1885 Baldwin 0-4-2 is the only survivor from a varied and interesting roster is on display in Ft. Bragg.

This landlocked line shipped its finished lumber by seagoing ships. It may have owned the smallest standard-gauge mallets ever madefor use in the US.
