Springtime in the Rockies tour

Wings and Rails International Expeditions invites you to participate in the special tour to the narrow gauge Cumbres and Toltec Scenic Railroad in Antonito, CO. A special run of K-36 #489 will have a specially painted green boiler jacket to recreate the Rocky Mountain Railroad Club’s May 21, 1950 excursion behind this locomotive. #489 is the only K-36 that was known to be painted in the special dark olive green boiler jacket. This special one day excursion will be limited to fifty (50) passengers and will depart at 1 pm from Antonito on May 25 and estimated to return at 10:30 pm that evening. Tour will be a simple van pool tour from Albuquerque, NM. To Antonito on the morning of 25 May arriving at approximately 12:00 pm. Return to Albuquerque will in the AM of 26th May. A point for meeting other group members will be set.
This tour is designed for the railfan photographer and will operate with a minimum of 3 passengers and a maximum 7 passengers. This tour will return at late hours of the evening and passengers can expect cold conditions and require roughing it. This is a last minute opportunity to support the C&TS.
