Due to the new management in 2009 the EBT started taking credit cards and some cosmetic improvements were been made around the station. The public restrooms were upgraded. A noted in 2010 the railroad is open additional days on July 4th and Labor day weekends, Monday July 5th 2010 and Monday September 6th 2010. Also there were more event in 2009 and yet more in 2010.

On the FEBT restoration side the shops and combine #14 continue to progress. The shops steam engine is operable on air as of last year. Three more shops machines are slated to come online this year with a possible fourth. Major progress has been made in the restoration of the Boiler House as well as work on the Boiler Shop and locomotive Shop.

Much of the yard in Robertsdale has been leased to the Broad Top Coal Miners Museum and the tracks and engine house have been cleared out of brush. trees, and boney.
