The South Park Rail Society has secured the donation of a rare Plymouth model HL 3 locomotive for use as the museum's work train locomotive. It is currently stored in Eastern Oregon and we need to ship it to Como by the end of this August to begin it's much needed return to service. At 20 this loco is heavy enough to handle any tasks required at Como. It will need considerable repairs before it can be operated safely and reliably but the repairs are well within our current abilities and will be performed in the roundhouse in Como Colorado.
The South Park Rail Society needs your assistance to raise the required funds to load and ship the Plymouth from Oregon to Como, Colorado. If you would like to help bring this much needed locomotive to Como, Please consider making a donation at

This Plymouth was built to work the Wyckoff Company Railroad tie plant in Washington State but was retired in the early 1980's. The unusual low open cab seen below was required to allow the locomotive to access the creosoting areas of the tie plant. Our plan is to rebuild the cab into a much more user friendly configuration along the lines of Pacific Coast Ry #120 seen below.
