My father moved our family from Glendora (on the ATSF) to Ojai (on an S.P. branch) in December, 1950.
I vaguely remember seeing V.C. #2 in actual freight service in Oxnard sometime in the mid- or late fifties,
but I don't remember her having a dark green boiler jacket. I also remember seeing a small diseasel that
had siderods & counterweights on both trucks - but the counterweights were lemon yellow, not bright red,
and the hood & cab were dark green - like the leaves of citrus trees. I don't remember if it was lettered for
the Ventura County Railway or for SunKist.
