Silverton, May 1980

My Grandfather passed away about a month ago, and in the process of cleaning the house out (Which is taking up several weekends) we've come across several little things of interest.

My grandparents used to travel quite a bit, and also took lots of pictures on these trips, which obviously went into photo albums. We've gone through a solid 15 BIG albums over the weeks and have really enjoyed it.

Yesterday I flipped through one that had a piece of paper on the inside saying "1980-1982." I noticed several pictures from a trip to Colorado. Sure enough they rode The Silverton in 1980, the last season for D&RGW operations. I scanned a few of these pictures and thought I'd share them here. Remember, they were not railfans, just tourists. Though they're still cool photos.

I don't know the exact date, as the back of all the pictures only says May 1980.
