Due to unforeseen circumstances, the Shorty caboose will
NOT be added to the train.
As of Wednesday afternoon, 04/21, there was only ONE (1) caboose ticket still unreserved.
The total number of tickets is still being held to the previously advertised limit of fifty (50) to keep the photo lines manageable - this will be done by limiting the number of rider-boxcar tickets to 28, As of last week six of these had been sold, so there are only 22 rider-box tickets still available.
Per a suggestion from our photography consultant, Michael Ripley, the configuration of the train will probably be changed by dropping one of the four stock cars and one or two of the four drop-bottom gons. The consist is now expected to be green-jacketed engine #489 and tender (with flying
Rio Grande lettering), two yellow reefers, three black stock cars, two drop-bottom gons, the rider gon, the rider boxcar, the concession/toilet car, and the two long cabooses. We will not be assigning particular seats in any of the cars, and expect that those riding the cabooses will change cars from time to time, and that cupola seats will be shared equitably.
