Were the switchmen on the NG switch engines until their lines were abandoned or did train crews do their own switching at the end?

Switch engine at Alamosa would have been standard gauge and I believe there were still a crew or two working at the end of narrow gauge operations. At Durango I have not yet verified, but quite possible no switch crew assignment for 1967 and 1968. Unless there was a temporary assignment during summer months while the Silverton was running.

Switchmen roster for July 1, 1966, has 5 men listed for Durango yard:

J M Greathouse
L W Lee
F W Paulek
M W Huntsman
H A Schaaf, Jr.

I would have to verify how many were actually working in the yard and when. For example, I posted information on a run or two during 1966 and Mr. Schaaf was working as conductor out of Durango.

Alamosa had 14 men on the roster for that yard. There again how many were actually working in the yard may have been less.
