Did the 454 go as far as Lava and then return to Antonito?
Also, it is interesting than L.J. Oberrich, with more than 30 years in the engine service, still make most of his money shoveling coal. Cecil T (Tony) Sisemore had a little more than a year in the engine service, so he was ripe for getting bumped.
The 1958 seniority list has Tony Sisemore's birthday as 11-18-1899. That met that he was almost 44 years old when he hired out on the Grande on 10-23-1943. Why so late? Could be a story there.
L.J. Oberrich was No. 33 on the 1-1-1945 list, No. 29 on the 7-1-1946 list and No. 20 on the 1-1-1950 list. As Earl said, he was done in 1954 with 40 years, mostly behind the scoop.
